History[]
The Slate Hill area was used by numerous Apollo Program astronauts, including the crew of Apollo 11 and Jim Lovell of Apollos 8 and 13, during a geological training field trip in June of 1964.[1] Due to the 2018 Ute Park Fire, this camp was closed starting in the 2019 season.
